Description of the research topic:

We study the role of gamma oscillations in visual processing by using high-density EEG. The first goal is to isolate frequency components of EEG that best correlate with the recognition performance. The second goal is to resolve the causal role of these oscillations in visual recognition, whether they are causing, enabling or corollary of conscious visual recognition. The third goal is to determine the contribution of these frequency components to the bottom-up and top-down visual processing. We combine EEG with video eye-tracking methods and virtual reality to mimic real-life scenarios of free eye movements and rapid visual information processing.
