Description of the research topic:

The shared focus of the specific research topics is the application of up-to-date, innovative digital technologies in people with atypical development, as the key target group. The more specific target groups are, primarily - though not exclusively - people on the autism spectrum and people with other atypical cognitive or communicative abilities. In terms of technologies, eye-tracking technique, automated emotional facial expression recognition, serious games, and assistive mobile apps represent the main, though not exclusive, foci. Our current research foci are: early recognising the risk of autism spectrum conditions; assistive use of info-communication technologies (e.g., mobile apps) in autism spectrum conditions and intellectual disability; reading processes and enhancing reading abilities in the autism spectrum; the application of eye-tracking technique in the field of human disabilities and atypical development. Other topics which fit into the broader foci are also possible.
