Description of the research topic:
Miocene sediments in and around the Mecsek Mts., SW Hungary, contain a taxonomically rich and numerous vertebrate fauna. The task of the PhD candidate is the paleontological study of the material at the University of Pécs and at museums, primarily of reptiles and terrestrial mammals. Expected results are the taxonomic description and evaluation of the fossils, with inferences on the evolution of the studied groups and the paleogeography. Candidates with degree in Biology are welcome.
