Description of the research topic:

In modern societies, the role of football has greatly increased, considering both the leisure sport that we pursue and the spectator sport that we watch.
Altogether with this, the economic significance of football has also increased, therefore research focusing on football as a business phenomenon has also gained importance
In the framework of the topic, relevant geopolitical and international aspects can also be explored, for example:
Business models in football.
Which countries and sports ”produce” the most”marketable” sports stars?
Which countries are the biggest investors in terms of specific well-known football clubs and championships (e.g. Paris St. Germain bought Neymar for 222 million dollars (!), practically, all that at the expense of the state of Qatar; in England, Chinese owners bought themselves in 7 Premier League teams out of 20 (!), and several prestigious Italian and Spanish clubs also have a Chinese background)
Investment in a country’s own national league (United States, China, Russia, Turkey, certain Arab states)
The interconnection of marketing, media and sport in an international outlook.
The division of discretionary incomes spent on sports (as its pursuer or spectator).
The importance of sports tourism in each country – both as a pursuer of sports and as a spectator of sports (for example, stadium tours).
The advantages and disadvantages of organizing world competitions in terms of city economy and national economy.
The geopolitical role of FIFA, UEFA and other international sports organizations.
