Description of the research topic:

Paper is an inhomogeneous material, which on a structural level represents a dense network of cellulosic fibers [1]. Paper is indispensable in our daily life having a huge number of applications. However, due to recent trends toward exploitation of renewable and eco-friendly materials, its applications expanded also to the domains previously dominated by synthetic plastics [2]. The cellulose fibers are inexpensive, biodegradable, easy to use and readily available. For this reason, the paper based products became very attractive for applications in diverse areas such as nanomedicine, pharmacology, biophysics, biochemistry and environmental
science.
