Description of the research topic:
Growth theories are applied nowadays on low territorial level, so not only the number of the explaining variables in the macro (regional) production function is increasing, but new methods that incorporate the spatial feature of the process are also in the mainstream of the research. The PhD student of this topic can choose a territory to analyze the factors of the regional growth (including traditional ones and emerging ones lied to globalization, digitalization, and knowledge society) and take the tools of the spatial econometrics (spatial regression models, measures of local convergence) to find new relationships and new explanations of the convergence and/or divergence phenomena.
