Description of the research topic:
The Augustan Age is one of the periods in Roman history that have the largest and the most complex sources. The civil wars at the end of the 40's and in the 30's offer a great number of themes to elaborate, just as the years when the principate was evolving – regarding both politics and society and culture, etc. In addition, the ancient studies in Hungary still has the systematic processing of the contemporary sources to do, also, the translation of some important texts is still missing.
