Thesis topic proposal

Electrochemistry, electrochemical sensors, biosensors, Scanning Electrochemical Microscopy (SECM) application of electrochemical sensors in physiological or in corrosion

THESIS TOPIC PROPOSAL

Institute: University of Pécs
chemistry
Doctoral School of Chemistry

Thesis supervisor: Géza Nagy
Location of studies (in Hungarian): PTE TTK Általános és Fizikai Kémia Tanszék
Abbreviation of location of studies: PTE

Description of the research topic:

"Detailed description of the topic: Selective chemical sensors are important
tools of analytical chemistry. They can report on the concentration or on
presence of different species in clinical, environmental, or industrial
samples. Micro-size versions of them can be used for solving special
experimental problems. In the research aiming to develop electrochemical
sensors Hungarian research schools have been achieving internationally well
recognized progress for decades. The PhD student selecting the topic will take part in the ongoing work solving attached separate problem. She/he can work in developing selective sensors applicable in life science experiments or in corrosion studies. Can do efforts for making miniature sensors applicable for proposes of in vivo life science experiments. Special emphases will be given in further development of the method of Scanning Electrochemical Microscopy. "

Number of students who can be accepted: 2

Deadline for application: 2018-02-16
