Description of the research topic:
There is large and ever increasing number of chemicals produced and used by mankind. People can face significant risk of chemical exposure, especially in certain workplaces where high exposure levels may develop. Although there is evidence for the health effects of several chemicals, the characterization of the effect spectrum may require further studies in many cases. In addition, even well-known health effects might not always be recognized in practice. The goal of the PhD project is to study the health effects of occupational chemical exposures by detecting potential chemical hazards in the workplace and assessing the related health risk and disease burden with toxicological and occupational epidemiological methods.
