Description of the research topic:
The research aims to detect the thermal relations of the districts with different built-up and vegetation features in larger cities. The first step is to separate the individual neighborhoods using multi-band satellite data, as well as by the development of neural network (local climate zone mapping). Comparative thermal analysis of the obtained zones by surface temperature data from satellite images with different resolutions and by air temperature data from installed station network. Development of statistical models based on the obtained relationships. As potential application of the results to make recommendations (on land cover and geometrical measures) as to develop better local-scale urban environments.
