Description of the research topic:

The agricultural by-products (straw, husk) used for mushroom composts may contain some mycotoxins. Those metabolites might have an until now unknown influence onto those biological, chemical and physical processes that are needed for good quality mushroom growing substrate. During compost preparation the decomposition of those intermediers are not completely described, their effect onto cultivation is unknown. The major aim of the research work is to evaluate some physical and biological protocols may decrease the amount of the toxins. The target is to develop a cultivation technology that may increase the mushroom crop safety and food safety.
