Thesis supervisor: Krisztián Bóna
Location of studies (in Hungarian): Department of Material Handling and Logistics Systems
Abbreviation of location of studies: ALRT

Description of the research topic:

a) Background of research:
Sustainable supply chain management has an increased attention in recent years. In the area of production planning and control, this trend has given rise to the development of lot-sizing models that consider sustainability issues besides the minimization of total operational cost. With a few exceptions, there arises to be a large gap in the literature respecting works that examine ergonomic aspects in decision support models, in particular in determining optimal lot sizes.

b) Goals of research:
Finding optimal ergonomic lot size that minimize total cost of manual material handling process Increasing efficiency and effectiveness of intralogistics systems Increasing performance of both human resource and overall system Creating models, which can support the decisions in the operational control Demonstrating and validating the importance of application of the ergonomical aspects in the decision models

c) Main tasks of research:
Determine the optimal ergonomic lot size Figuring out the affects of the optimal ergonomic lot size in the intralogistics systems Figuring out where is the place of human resource in sustainable supply chain management
Creating and validating models, which can present the efficience of the application of ergonomic lot sizing
