Description of the research topic:
The apopto-phagocytosis program plays a central role in maintaining tissue homeostasis. In case macrophages are located far away from the dying cells, they have to find them. We have developed recently a technique to study migration of macrophages toward the apoptotic cells. In this research program we will investigate bothe the chemotactic signals that drive the migration, and the signaling pathways that regulate the migration of macrophages.
