Description of the research topic:
Entrepreneurship is believed to be an important vehicle of economic development and job creation both country and regional levels. However, this statement is only partially supported by empirical studies because the effect of entrepreneurship depends on many factors including the way of measurement, the lengths of the examination period, the level of development and other contextual/institutional factors that also influence entrepreneurship policy steps. So, we need further theoretical as well as empirical researches. We have data for about 100 countries over 15 years from the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (http://gemconsortium.org/) and the Global Entrepreneurship and Development Institute (http://www.thegedi.org/). In the case of 24 European Union countries we have regional data. These data make possible to examine entrepreneurship, its components, entrepreneurship activity, and entrepreneurship policy.
