Description of the research topic:
Semiconductor-based photocatalysis is a complex research field, with a high degree of interdisciplinarity (physical-, analytical chemistry, physics, materials’ science etc.) having an even higher degree of applicability in surface/coatings related industry and water-cleaning, sensorial and energetic problems. In “fine-tuning” the applicability spectra the most important mission is the optimally selected morpho-dimensionality (e.g. shape and size of the nanomaterials) which determines their photocatalytic activity and applicability. The main task is the synthesis and characterization (TEM, SEM, Raman, IR, UV-vis, XRD, etc.) of photocatalytically active materials.
