Description of the research topic:

The research topic covers the legal and criminological aspects and contexts of youth justice from theoretical and practical approach.
One of its main focal point is the national and international questions of criminal law, criminal procedural law and criminal enforcement law of juveniles as well as the developmental tendencies of the regulation, the new solutions, the processes in their background and the factors affecting the evolution of legal policy.
Because of the changes of age limits (e.g.: MACR) and because of the interoperability between the youth and adult justice in some countries the child protection and administration and the general regulations form the part of research subject.
With special regards to some offender groups (e.g.: juveniles), special attention is paid on the institutions of criminal law and criminal procedure law which serve the crime prevention effectively based on the experiences to date.
Thus, the mediation and the other forms of diversion, the alternative sanctions, the community sentences belong to the research subject; as well as programs and trainings which help the effective prevention and resocialization, partly during the diversion forms and partly during the detention.
The questions about the institutions, structure and efficiency of youth justice are connected to this topic as well.
The other main direction of the research subject is the field of criminology. The criminality, including for example the age, gender and crime (namely child- and youth crime, female crime), violent crime, domestic violence are the main focal points.
Beyond the presentation of social phenomena, the causal, preventive issues are in the centre of investigation (e.g.: anti-aggression trainings or boot camps?).

The clarification of the topic will be concluded according to the research plan discussed by the applicants and supervisors.
