Writing skills development and assessment is an area of language pedagogy that does not receive enough attention. Because language learners do not write enough in language classes, teachers do not get thorough training in writing skills development, and course book writers provide teachers with ineffective input on written genres, language learners do not receive effective and reliable writing skills development.
