Description of the research topic:

A novel method has been developed in our lab to measure loop size and superhelical density in nuclear halos by laser scanning cytometry. We will compare these features in euchromatin and heterochromatin, and in conjunction with replication timing. The effect of topoisomerase inhibitors on superhelicity will also be studied, to determine the contribution of internucleosomal factors to the overall superhelical density.
