Description of the research topic:
The importance of landscape in general and urban landscape lies in the information of identity, it transmits the visual characteristics of the space that result from the social and cultural practices and the relation between the human actions and the natural conditions.
Urban development and housing are affected by several factors such as the rate of urbanisation and the demographic growth, which have led eventually to a housing shortage. The prefabricated mass housing, or the panel housing was a reaction to the demographic changes and the shortage of urban housing. Under such circumstances, the priority was given to the large scale production of dwelling units. Prefabricated mass-housing could be found all around the world and have a strong existence in the Centre and Eastern European countries, however, due to certain characteristic and effects over the years, it became a centre of controversy, especially with the sustainability and local identity prospect.
The research question is weather it is a model that shares and support the goals of sustainable.
