Description of the research topic:
The effects of match and competition on neurmuscular function are well documented. Much less is known about the effects of professional sport training (soccer, football, etc) on neuromuscular and cognitive function, perceptual mood, and wellness states. This study aims to determine the recovery time-course of neuromuscular function in response to a standard training week in various academy, elite athletes. The study plans to examine physical performance, cognitive function, and perceptual measures of mood and wellness and will assess with simple tests applied practitioners could use in the field to act as surrogate measures of neuromuscular function.
