Description of the research topic:
Within this field any subject proposal is welcome which plans to deal with the interactions between the Platonic tradition and religions in the Hellenistic period and Late Antiquity (ca. 3rd c. BC to the 6th c. AD). Broadly speaking, these religions will be Judaism, Christianity and paganism (Hellenism), but a successful dissertation will focus on a more specific religious phenomenon under these umbrella terms. The level of interaction does not need to be philosophy or theology in the technical sense (although this is also welcome) but may include the presence of Platonising tendencies in religious contexts.
Recommended language skills (in Hungarian): German, French, Italian Further requirements: Language knowledge: The candidate is expected to read and write in English on an advanced level. The knowledge of Greek, Latin or Hebrew (Aramaic) is a requirement, depending on the language of the sources chosen
