Description of the research topic:
The boundaries separating verse from prose have become significantly blurred since Modernism. This research concentrates on authors who experiment with a combination of the two in some of their work. From the experimental book The Waves by Virginia Woolf through the sections of prose inserted the epic Paterson by William Carlos Williams to the verse novel One by Sarah Crossan, there are a number of genres and authors, from which the focus can be chosen for examining the interaction of different poetic and narrative approaches.
