Description of the research topic:
The topic concerns the presence and voicing of non-human animals in the language(s) of literature. Research can employ the theoretical frameworks of human-animal studies and biopoetics to study the role of animals in not only the figurative and representational spaces of literature but also in the self-presentation of literary discourse. Special emphasis may be placed on the “animalistic” aspects of the non-discursive, aesthetic features of literary language(s).
