Shakespeare’s work was highly influenced by Greek philosophical traditions. Renaissance humanism rediscovered the importance of Aristotelian and Platonic ideas and recognized the enduring significance of scepticism, stoicism, etc. in Renaissance man’s self-understanding and worldview.
