Description of the research topic:
"In Europe are used 9 million tons of detergents every year. Despite the wastewater treatment, their remains can be detected in living waters, they cause foaming, eutrophication and changes in other physiological parameters (photosynthetic activity, protein synthesis).
Their important active ingredients are synthetic surfactants (these are petroleum derivatives), which cannot or are difficult to break down biologically, which is why they are toxic when they get into wastewater.
The research examines the effect of household cleaning products on aquatic organisms using the test organism Lemna minor. In order to investigate the effect on higher plants, we infer the effect of irrigation with gray wastewater by examining Triticum aestivum.
