Description of the research topic:
Metaphor and metonymy are the key concepts in cognitive linguistics, and they are ubiquitous in language. They are two basic cognitive strategies for human beings to learn and understand the world. But different languages and cultures may have different metaphors and metonymies. It is valuable to have an intercultural study of them, so as to reveal universals and variation of human cognition.
