Description of the research topic:
With the widespread use of communicative language teaching techniques, the role of translation has been challenged, making a number of aspects worth examining: the attitude of language teachers towards the role of translation in language teaching, the use of grammar-translation methods vs. real-life translation assignments in class, implications of these aspects on translator training and the job profile ’translator’ (prestige, skills, attitudes).
