Description of the research topic:
The research focuses primarily on the boundaries of sculpture, which capture shape and space
through motion, sound and light phenomena. Many experiments come from outside the field of art
and start from sculpture with the adaptation of movement, the association of light and sound with
almost engineering solutions; the experiments in this field further inspire the contemporary
expansion of sculpture and the development of its branch using state-of-the-art techniques. As an
example, I mention Cod.Act: Cycloïd-ε installation. The motion and movement of different materials
can produce sound on its own, but other acoustic or light phenomena associated with plastics are
also the subject of research.
The research does not dictate forms closely related to the classical genres of sculpture to explain the
subject but expects them to be carried out in objectified form through their expansion in space
(mobile, sounding, light-operated objects, installations, etc.). Thus, the topic ad does not seek to
expand the broadly understood possibilities of sculpture in cyberspace, it does not look at the
branches of video art and other non-plastic media but does not exclude their additive use in
subordinate roles.
Details on the research topic must be agreed in advance with the supervisor!
