Description of the research topic:
Lately the market of the recreation drugs has been entirely changed. Several new psychoactive drugs appear from year to year. The mechanism of their effect and metabolism are mainly unknown, so they mean larger health risk than the traditional recreational drugs. A few animal metabolism examinations of the literature cannot give dependable information for the humans. In our institute we determine the different drugs from biological samples received from the police with the aid of HPLC-DAD system. In the samples we can found not only the main drugs but the metabolites also. We not know the structures of these metabolites as we have no standards for them, but we have the opportunity to carry on with the assaying. For this after the analysis of UV spectra we can also do tandem MS examinations.
