Description of the research topic:

The members of cytoskeletal proteins of certain tissue cells respond very sensitively and rapidly to a wide variety of effects like agents routinely used in clinical practice, the presence of binding proteins, an acute stress effect, a mutation, or a change in other physiological parameters. Structural changes of cytoskeletal proteins and the molecular mechanisms of their organization can be determined with extreme accuracy by biophysical methods. Our research focuses on these important molecular details and the possible pathological changes they cause using a wide range of spectroscopic and microscopic methods and equipment. During the Ph.D. work, students can also learn to apply techniques that are not closely related to their work, and they will also actively participate in the teaching at the Department of Biophysics, Medical School of University of Pécs.

Number of students who can be accepted: 1

Deadline for application: 2023-05-19
