Description of the research topic:
In case of drug resistant epilepsy, resective surgery is the best chance for achieving seizure freedom. In a part of drug-resistant cases, autoimmune mechanism is the cause of the epilepsy. Intracranial EEG must be performed in MRI-negative cases or in MRI-positive cases with discordant electrolinical and imagery data. Brain mapping using depth electrodes, subdural electrodes and funcional MRI as well as improving stimulation parameters during intracranial EEG monitoring are the key elements of this work.
