Description of the research topic:

Nowdays, in addition to the continuous expansion of the psycho-pharmacotherapy methods, the emphasis is also on the cooperation of our patients, which is key to the effectiveness of treatment. However, according to the literature, this is far from problem-free, with almost half of those suffering from mental disorder only partially cooperate with the treatment. According to recent research, a lot of factors play a role in this, among which the patient, the physician, the doctor-patient relationship, the mental disorder and the medication used are of particular importance. In our research, using this complex model, we examine the most important underlying factors of adherence, especially with regard to cognitive functions, indight, and the modern pharmacotherapeutic possibilities, the role of the relationship between side effects and quality of life.
