Description of the research topic:
HIV is a leading infectious cause of mortality worldwide. Decades of intensive research have accumulated a huge wealth of data, from the level of molecules (sequences) up to the level of human populations (epidemics). Complex analyses of these data have revealed important aspects of the infection, opening opportunities towards further discoveries. The exact topic of the PhD thesis will be selected based on the interest and skills of the applicant: in addition to sensu stricto data analysis, there is a possibility also for mathematical or simulation modelling. This line of research is being conducted in the frame of the National Laboratory for Health Security.
Required language skills: English Further requirements: Some experience in complex data analyses or computer modelling
