Description of the research topic:
"Coordinated movement of individuals can be observed in numerous areas of the wildlife including many bird species. In case of birds these acts appear in various situations ranging from group migration to coordinated scouting of prey. Understanding the collective behavior shown by birds provides fundamental research insights into biology and physics, moreover it serves as an important source of bioinspiration for collective robotic systems.
The main goal of the project is to study groups of birds of prey, flying robots or even hybrid groups consisted of birds and robots in order to understand coordination, cooperation and collective sensing by in-depth investigation of the interactions between them."
