Description of the research topic:
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are a serious global problem because of their harmful effects. These molecules can be formed during the incomplete combustion of any organic material and therefore present in all products that require an oxygen-deficient combustion process to be made. This research will help us to gain a deeper understanding of the growth and formation of PAHs and to develop methods to investigate their reactivity. The formation of the resulting PAHs can be inhibited or even prevented, thus creating a healthier environment.
