Description of the research topic:
Scientific interest in gaming disorder has been steadily growing in the last two decades. Although we are getting to know more about this phenomenon, there are still a lot of questions. For instance, the definition and assessment of the disorder is still debated, there are numerous questions concerning the processes related to the acquisition, development, maintenance, and cessation of the disorder, and not much is known about the effectiveness of prevention and treatment interventions and programs. Research during this PhD program examines these questions and debated topics mostly from a personality psychology perspective.
