Description of the research topic:

"Enterprise information system have been using for many decades to support business processes of companies, non-profit or administrative organizations. The technological advances in the field of information technology indicates emerging demands against the enterprise information systems. One possible way of serving the constantly upcoming of new demands is the collaboration of the different information systems which means the realization of their integration. However the wide heterogeneity of enterprise applications makes enterprise application integration a challenging task.
Evaluation of the demands against enterprise information systems and their provided services is one of the main tasks of the research both from the technical and the business point of view.
Research tasks are the researching of the possible connection of different systems including one or more tasks as follows:
- researching and development of methodology for enterprise application integration,
- researching of algorithms to evaluate semantic similarity of enterprise master data and transactional data (schema matching),
- researching the appropriate measurement units, metrics and evaluation methods for precision and performance issues of schema matching,
- taxonomies, ontology can also be used during the research of linguistic evaluation methods,
- evaluation the applicability of text mining methods in the improvement of schema matching algorithms,
- optimizing the non-functional performance parameters of schema matching algorithms,
- researching the performance and performance models of different integration architectures (like enterprise service bus or enterprise cloud computing),
- creating test scenarios and complex research framework to provide appropriate environment for the evaluation of the performance of different methods and algorithms.
Test cases and applications built for the validation of the developed new approaches should be implemented with the consideration of widely used open standards (for example standards of W3C or OAGIS) and should be built on a standard (for example SOA based) run-time platform using standard protocols.
