Description of the research topic:

Different human activities could alter the natural geomorphological processes, thus usually their rate increases. The aim of direct human impacts (engineering, agriculture, mining etc.) is to create new forms or influence the existing landforms. These human impacts have the greatest environmental impact, which often alter the landscape far from the point of intervention. Indirect human activities (e.g. climate change, land-use change) have probably smaller effect on form assemblages, though they could alter larger areas for long. The aim of the research is to select one geomorphological process (e.g. fluvial activity, land slides, soil erosion) and to measure its changing rate (pre- and post-disturbance). However, the research could be done from the point of view of human impact too, thus how did a certain human activity (e.g. farming, mining, river regulation) alter the processes in a certain area.
