Description of the research topic:
The ultimate input interface for consumer electronic devices would not require muscle movements from the user, only thinking. Fast and reliable brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) could vastly enhance the capabilities of its users. They could be used for effortless typing and issuing of commands. Even though a great amount of research and development is focused on brain-computer interfacing, no mainsrteam application has emerged for everyday use yet, probably due to the lack of fast and accurate solutions. The research aims to take leaps into this direction by creating hardware and/or software, including artificial intelligence that can decode mental commands more effectively than state of the art solutions.
