Description of the research topic:

The postsynaptic density (PSD) is a protein network capable of dynamics reorganization. It takes part in the molecular-level processes of learning and memory and is also involved in the development of a number of neurological diseases. Our aim is to better understand the organization and 3D structure of the PSD. We express selected protein domains and segments and experimentally characterize their structure (e.g. using NMR spectroscopy) and partner binding properties, as well as the basic features of larger complexes. In general, we use modeling methods integrating experimental data. Besides, we use bioinformatics tools to decipher the properties of PSD proteins and their functional connections.

Keen interest in structural biology, basic knowledge of molecular biology and/or bioinformatics methods
