Description of the research topic:

"Enterprise information systems directly support the everyday working processes of several departments of any kind of organizations. All the processes of the production, logistics, financials are covered and also the decisions of the management are supported by them. The main part of the research is the evaluation of the demands against and the supported processes by these enterprise systems and the improvement of the offered services. The unique architecture of the enterprise systems, the special algorithms applied in the system modules must be studied from point of view both from system management and from programming capabilities.
The research task itself is the evaluation and implementation of processes of the production, production planning and logistics for optimization in the enterprise information system. The research must be focus on the open questions of logistics, its processes and working models including
- the functional model of processes (horizontal and vertical approach is also possible, all the job-shop, mass production and project based approaches can be analyzed to determine efficiency and performance of the applied methods and algorithms),
- the flow of materials (evaluation and optimization of machine based, production process based or hybrid models),
- the operational and maintenance processes of production resources including their repair, replacement and renewal (researching different scheduling algorithms of the production informatics like genetic, Tabu search or simulated annealing approaches)
- the management of the human resources directly connected to the production and other business processes,
- the modeling of work processes and time allocation (time scheduling and optimization of applied cost estimation models).
During the program the candidates became capable to research the processes and algorithms of enterprise information systems, the development, the deployment and customization of these systems also in a productive environment.
