Description of the research topic:
Germany and Austria are countries with very vast experience in migration and its management. The increased migration inflows in 2015 were clearly epoch-making for both countries. Several events related to the migration crisis soon showed that the new wave of immigration also means security risks. These risks primarily affect public safety and everyday life. In the context of public security, it is an unfortunate experience in recent years that, there have been terrorist attacks in many countries within the European Union which are not independent of immigration and the security and integration problems that have arisen. And when we talk about terrorist attacks, there is no way we can go past how, in what way this could affect the protection of critical infrastructure in different countries. Although it is not necessarily the primary goal of terrorists to attack critical infrastructure, the quasi-benefits expected from its effects cannot be underestimated in any way.
