Description of the research topic:

Apart from the healthcare, the health of a population is influenced by the activity of several sectors through the health determinants of lifestyle, physical environment and socio-economic environment. This notion is represented in practice by the Health in All Policies approach. An important method for considering health in the policies, programmes and projects of various sectors is the assessment of the expected health impact of initiatives. Health impact assessment is a combination of methods that can be used to estimate how various initiatives affect the health of people and how these effects are distributed within the population. The goal of the PhD project is to assess the usability of health impact assessment in the political decision-making process and to conduct health impact assessment of a policy, programme or project that is expected to have significant health effects, using qualitative and quantitative methods of appraisal.
