Description of the research topic:

Preterm birth is one of the greatest challenges of obstetrical practice, neither the therapy nor the prevention is not solved despite that 15 million premature babies born each year in the world. Our research focus on searching for new drug and new drug including the combinations of already used and never used new compounds. The uterine contractions and responses are investigated in pregnant rat model in vitro (isolated organ bath) and in vivo (electromyography). The measurements are accomplished with molecular pharmacological methods for the investigations of receptors (RT-PCR, Western blot), and second messengers ELISA).
