Description of the research topic:
In recent decades, due to similar economic and social processes, the convergence of national education systems is being observed. This phenomenon is more characteristic in general education than vocational training, even though the processes behind the vocational training are generally affected by the globalization economy in many ways. The research is aimed at exploring and analysing the latest trends in European countries' vocational training, based on both the literature and statistical data. It focuses on the position of vocational training within the school system, its various functions, its relationship with the economy, and the students' aspirations. Beyond this, it deals with the financing and operation of vocational training.
