Description of the research topic:

The goal of the research is to explore the competitiveness and development potentials of agricultural enterprises and different sectors of agriculture in the light of the agricultural policies and the Common Agricultural Policy in particular. In the research process the past, the present and the future of the CAP is discussed in accordance with the support system and rural development policies. A main objective of the research is to explore the external factors and internal features which may influence the agricultural sectors and enterprises and make an international comparison at different level: EU member states, CEE and Eastern European countries, other possible competitors. A special focus is given to sustainable technologies and using green methods along the whole supply chain. The research database should be built on international and domestic databases; in addition a primary research should be conducted in order to gather relevant information about the players of the market.
Actuality:
The agricultural production plays important role in the national economies of most of the countries all over the world. Increasing or stimulating the competitiveness of the agricultural sector will have impacts both on the economic and social structure of the countries, and may be an efficient tool for development of rural areas.
