Description of the research topic:

It is said, that having a job greatly reduces the risk of being poor. However, studies show, that there is a certain share of the employed population, who is at-risk of poverty in the European Union, in a sense, that disposing a per capita household income below 60% of the national median income. It is essential to look at the typical characteristics that the working poor share. The common characteristics of the working poor population let us draw the inference of their economic, household, social, labour market and job-related characteristics, which drifted them to the group of working poor. Studying the organisations where the working poor are employed can lead to a deeper understanding of the phenomena. Exploring innovative organisational solutions can have an important role in reducing persistent poverty.
