Description of the research topic:

Justification of the research topic:
The information technology dependency of the information society is very high today. The information infrastructures of this society could be attacked by a single user as well as a hostile country. These infrastructures include many voulnerabilities, and every day new and new attacking methods appear all around the world. The traditional way of warfare has been changed. Nowadays the real threats is the cyber warfare. In accordance with these facts we have to prepare our armed forces and all of us to protect or systems against the cyber attacks and to use our capabilities in offensive cyber warfare as well.

Objectives:
To introduce the basics of cyber warfare.
Understanding of internal relationships within the information systems.
Understanding of connections between traditional and cyber warfare,
To get knowledge on attack and defence capabilities in cyber sphere.
To get knowledge on international cyber security policies and strategies.
To formulate cyber defence (and if it is needed cyber attack) organization for Hungary.

Research methods:
Literature examination and literary research on the area of literature being attached to the topic.
Lesson learned on the area of cyber conflicts.
Consultations with experts.
Examination of the cyber threats and protection methods.
Comparison of international cyber security policies and strategies.
