Description of the research topic:

More than 50% of patients with chronic kidney diseases (CKD) die due to cardiovascular diseases (CVD). It is clear that CKD patients are much more likely to die in CVD than to develop end-stage renal disease. The most effective strategy for reducing CV morbidity and mortality would be to target CK patients with mild renal impairment for prevention and treatment before severe CVD develops. Two themes are proclamed: 1. Assessment of cardiovascular risk factors in CKD patients, mainly in IGAN. 2.Diagnosis and prognostic factors of subclinical cardiovascular alterations in CKD (mainly in IgAN and polycystic kidney diseases).
