Description of the research topic:

MiRNAs regulate approximately 90% of protein-coding genes, and play a central role in various biological processes including immune cell lineage commitment, differentiation, proliferation, apoptosis and maintenance of immune homeostasis. Alterations in miRNA regulation seem to be highly related to the development of immune dysfunctions and autoimmunity. The aim of the study is to investigate the potential role of specific miRNAs on the altered distribution and activation of B cells in primary Sjögren’s syndrome, systemic lupus erythematosus and systemic sclerosis.

- advanced English language skills
- advanced laboratory/research skills required for PCR, ELISA and Western blot
- computer skills and statistical knowledge (data collection, analysis and evaluation)
